I use it to keep myself SANE as a business entrepreneur.
Being a Pre/Postnatal Specialist it can be a crazy old world we live in.
Ever had a day when the whole world is against you?
Receive some negative feedback from a client that’s now playing on your mind?
Did someone upset you earlier and you just can’t shake the negative thoughts because you’re too darn sensitive?
What you need is a ‘Success Jar’.
Buy yourself a fancy jar (I picked up this one for the grand sum of £1 at the local supermarket!) and place it somewhere prominent, like on your desk or a shelf in your office.
Then, every time one of the following happens, write it down on a strip of paper and put it in the jar:
1) a BIG win,
2) a little win or accomplishment – this is the most important piece,
3) any positive client feedback you receive,
3) any failures, along with a lesson learned from the failure.
It’s fun reading all of the entries again and it’s guaranteed to bring a smile to your face.
I tend to pull out a few out slips of paper on those days where I’m feeling stuck or unmotivated or when I’m having a Negative Nancy moment.
You will be so surprised at all of the things you do actually accomplish, and this will help remind you of how awesome you and your business, however big or small actually is.
The ‘Success Jar’ will help lift you up when the going gets tough and genuinely, it’s a lot of fun too.
I usually start my ‘Success Jar’ at the beginning of each year and in January the following year I use the strips of paper to re-focus myself, share some great achievements and plan ahead for the future.
What do you think?
