So, today’s topic is all about relaxation.
If you don’t feel particularly confident doing relaxation as part of your pregnancy sessions, hopefully after today you WILL have the drive to do so.
Mums-to-be are so incredibly stressed out nowadays that they need to de-stress, whether they like it or not!
Below, you’ll find some language and phrases that will help you put together an amazing relaxation session.
It’ll stop you feeling like you’re a broken record, which is exactly what I felt like the first time I did one, ok?
MUSCLES / BODY PARTS
So, your basic of basic relaxation techniques is to start at the head and work your way down to the feet (or you could work the other way if you’re from the other side of the world – I’m kidding).
Use these words to avoid repetition:
- Melt away
- Let your (arms / legs / knees) feel heavy
I get my clients to relax a series of muscles and they do so on each out breath.
Here are some phrases you can to use instead of duplicating the words ‘on the next out breath’:
- On the next out breath
- Breathe out
- Exhale and…
- On the next exhalation
- Take your awareness into your breath
- Send that warm air into your….arms/legs/pelvis
- Focus on your breathing
